Local Burger Joint Teddy's Bigger Burgers Signs New Franchises in ...

Great news! Teddy?s is expanding! We just had two new franchises in Seattle, WA and Iowa City, IA join the family of Teddy?s Bigger Burgers locations across the nation.

Ken Wong has spent almost 40 years in the food service industry working at his father?s restaurant in Canada. Along with that, he has more than 10 years of experience in manufacturing consulting and two years in project managing that will help him get the new Teddy?s in Seattle off to a great start.

?The first time I had a Teddy?s burger was three years ago in Honolulu,? Wong said. ?My sister took me there on my first trip to Hawaii and told me about how amazing it was. Of course I was a little bit skeptical, but as soon as I took a bite, I said ?Wow, this is the best burger I?ve had in my life!??

For Wong, the food service industry has always been about family working toward the same goals. He aims to create a strong, family-oriented feel with a fun personality and quality food.

Sandy Ting, head of the Iowa City franchise, also grew up in the restaurant industry. Her family owns a restaurant in Iowa and has been in the restaurant business for more than 20 years, which makes her a perfect fit for the Teddy?s Bigger Burgers family.

?A friend took me out to eat at Teddy?s while I was visiting the island,? Ting said, ?and I?loved it! Everything was fresh and had a great taste to it. The meat was moist and juicy, and it didn?t have that oily taste to it. I actually saw the franchise poster while we were eating and started looking at regions they were promoting, and noticed that Iowa was one of them.?

Ting is positive that Teddy?s will be a great fit in Iowa, especially with the University of Iowa nearby.

?I think people will love it,? she said. ?It?s something that hasn?t been introduced in the area before, and it will be refreshing. We want to find the right fit with the University community and make sure that the first Teddy?s in Iowa creates a lasting impression.?

Ting?s franchise in Iowa City and Wong?s in Seattle are the two newest Teddy?s franchises.

?Ken and Sandy, we are proud to be a part of your future, and we look forward to achieving great things together,? said co-owner Ted Tsakiris. ?Our goal is to continue expanding in the next few years with five to six new stores on Oahu. We are excited to announce that our newest territory offering is California, where we feel that development will be robust.?
