Nov 26th 2012 at 11:50AM

Did you know that in 2008, more than one third of children and adolescents were overweight or obese? According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the percentage of children in the United States between the ages of 6?11 years old who were obese increased from 7% in 1980 to nearly 20% in 2008.

Some long term effects of childhood obesity include heart disease, kidney failure, cancers etc. Although the facts are astonishing, childhood obesity can be prevented. PR and Media mogul Natasha Brown of Think Brown Ink. hopes to prevent childhood obesity with her event MOVIN!
