BRISBANE, Australia - English-born Mike Mulvey has been appointed coach of struggling Australian defending champion Brisbane Roar for the next two seasons.
Mulvey was installed as interim coach in December to replace Rado Vidosic just 11 games into the 2012-13 season.
The club announced Mulvey's deal on Friday despite the team being beaten in this week's Asian Champions League qualifier against Thailand's Buriram United.
The Roar are third from bottom on the A-League ladder with 21 points from 20 games.
Before joining Brisbane, Mulvey served as assistant coach at rival Gold Coast United and was with the Queensland Academy of Sport football program.
