Free Youth Golf Clinic at Kummer-Little Recreation Center

They may not be Tiger Woods just yet but with the help of Parks and Rec kids in Bowling Green are well on their way to learning the game of golf.

More than forty kids were at the Kummer-Little Recreation Center for the first free Youth Golf Clinic, held this afternoon.

First with pencils, and then with clubs kids as young as five, were learning the basics of how to hit a golf ball.

Parks and Rec says it's just one way they can give back to the community and expand the game of golf.

"Some people have some apprehension about getting started, and we want to take that apprehension away so anything we can do to bring the game to the masses that's what were here for,"says Brent Belcher, with Bowling Green Parks.

"To do it for free and to give people a chance to play and to learn how to play without putting any kind of investment forward is a really, really good thing,"says Mike Rexroat, whose two kids participated in the golf clinic.

The next Youth Golf Clinic for ages five to fifteen will be held on March 9Th at 3:30 at the Kummer-Little Recreation Center.
