St. Augustine, FL (PRWEB) April 14, 2013

Solar Stik?, the leader in portable renewable power technology, has appointed Ronaldo Lachica, a retired US Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4), to serve as its Business Development Representative. CW4 (R) Lachica has 27 years of leadership and management experience with the US Army. He has spent the bulk of his career maintaining power generation equipment and providing power to soldiers.

Explaining his decision to accept Solar Stik?s offer, CW4 (R) Lachica commented, ?My views on Operational Energy (OE) are shaped by my two combat deployments to Iraq. So, I want to start my second career as a contributor to DoD?s OE Strategy - preferably in the area of tactical micro-grid development. Being a Business Development Representative for Solar Stik allows me to do exactly that.?

In the early stages of Operation Iraqi Freedom, CW4 (R) Lachica established and managed the electrical power grid for a forward operating base (FOB). The grid supplied over 1.5 megawatts of power to support the best possible living conditions for 4,500 troops.

?Chief Lachica brings to Solar Stik? an impressive history of both field experience and ?thought leadership? on the issue of Operational Energy; he understands what our customers need, and will be instrumental in helping us deliver it,? said Solar Stik? CEO Al Zaccor (Colonel, US Army-Retired).

While stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, CW4 (R) Lachica directed maintenance and logistics support operations for an organization of 1,000 soldiers. He later served as the Logistics Readiness Officer (LRO) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. As LRO, CW4 (R) Lachica planned, coordinated, and led the conduct of logistics operations for an organization of 4,600 personnel. This organization performed civil engineering projects and various military operations at multiple locations.

In addition to extensive on-the-ground experience, CW4 (R) Lachica earned a Master?s Degree in Logistics from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2012. Army Sustainment Magazine recently published an article by CW4 (R) Lachica that explores contemporary military energy issues and strategic plans for improvement.

Solar Stik? is honored to welcome CW4 (R) Lachica to the team and looks forward to his inevitable success representing Solar Stik?s superior products to our men and women in uniform.
