Weston Parks and Rec summer camps still have openings | The ...

weston-multi-sports-equipmeEven though summer has begun, it is not too late to sign up for some Weston Parks and Recreation summer camps. The following camps are still available for registration:

All American Sports Camp for children going into grades three and four. It is a two-week session beginning on July 15 and running until July 26. Drop-off is at 8:45 a.m. in front of the Weston High School gym and pick-up is at 3.

This is a reasonably competitive sports camp, geared to children who display a sincere interest in team sports and fun competition.

The fee is $475. To register, visit the Parks and Rec. offices at Jarvis House on the corner of Norfield and Weston roads.

Junior Eagle Day Camp is for children ages three to five. Although this camp began on June 26, there is still room available. It runs until July 26 from 9 to 12:30 every day.

Activities include American Red Cross swim lessons on Tuesdays and Thursday at the Weston Middle School pool. This camp also includes visits to Bisceglie Pond, arts and crafts and story time at the Weston Public Library.

The fee for two weeks is $450. Register in person at Jarvis House.

Head Coach Mike Hvizdo Weston Trojans Basketball Camp is offered for those in grades four through nine. It begins Aug. 19 and ends on Aug. 22, running 9 to 1 at Weston High School.

This camp gives players the basketball skills needed to become a better player in a fun environment. There will be guest speakers and contests that include prizes.

The Trifitness Triathlon Camp is a five-day program designed to introduce children ages seven to 14 to the sport of triathlon. Top triathletes and coaches will provide instruction on basic swimming, cycling and running techniques.

Two sessions still have openings:

  • July 22-26, from 8 to 1 at the Weston Middle School pool.
  • July 29-Aug. 2 from 9 to 2 at the Weston Intermediate School.
