Daily Chronicle | Benefit set for Hinckley family that lost home

A benefit fund has been set up for a Hinckley family that lost its home in a fire.

The Bastians? home in the 13400 block of Duffy road in Hinckley caught fire Sunday afternoon. The Bastians were home and escaped without injury, but they lost a dog and two cats.

The DeKalb County Sheriff?s Office said the person who reported the fire said a power line had come loose from the residence and began arcing, causing the house to become engulfed in flames.

Donations to the Megan and Mike Bastian Benefit Fund can be sent or dropped off at the Fifth Third Bank, 101 W. Lincoln Ave., Hinckley, IL 60520, or at any other local Fifth Third Bank location.

Other types of donations ? such as gift cards, toys for an 8-year-old boy and items for a newborn baby girl ??can be dropped off at the following locations:

??DeKalb Elks Lodge, in care of Stephanie Barringer, 209 S. Annie Glidden Road in DeKalb

? D & J Liquors, in care of Nikki Beane, 272 W. Lincoln Highway in Hinckley
